The PJ Library® program supports families in their Jewish journey by sending Jewish-content books and music on a monthly basis to children from six months to eight years. Created by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, The PJ Library® is funded nationally in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, local philanthropists, and Jewish organizations.

A Little More About the PJ Library®

PJ Library® was created by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, a leader in creating and supporting innovative opportunities for Jewish engagement in Western Massachusetts and beyond.  It is a gift to Michiana families from the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley, local donors, and local area Jewish educators.

The PJ Library® program reaches out to Jewish families with young children to help create stronger Jewish homes-homes that foster children’s curiosity about their Jewish heritage and help families explore their Jewish identity.  Participating families will receive a high-quality Jewish children’s book or CD sent to their home every month accompanied by resources to help families discuss topics. Regardless of your level of observance or affiliation, the gift of stories and songs is sure to enrich your entire family’s Jewish journey.

In today's economy, we at the Federation find ourselves focusing more and more on the ever-rising special needs like our social services program.  Unfortunately, that means a luxury like PJ Library®, which is working so well to teach our youngest Jewish community members how to "be and stay Jewish," is in jeopardy.  Therefore, we are turning to you for help to keep this very special program going strong in our community.
