Bi-weekly Kosher Lunch Program 

During the months of September through May, the Jewish Federation hosts two bi-weekly kosher lunches for all community members. Our Holiday Lunch celebrates the Jewish holiday of the month with hoiday-themed food and entertainment. Our Lunch 'n' Learn focuses on timely health topics that enhance the quality of our life. ESL Language Class

The Jewish Federation provides weekly English classes for the Jewish-Russian community at the Federation every Tuesday from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.

Classes focus on practical application of the English language and situations that class members encounter in their daily life. For example, what do class members need to know when they attend doctor visits? How do they interact with employees at the grocery store and other encounters on a regular basis?

Person-to-Person Phone Calls

Don't be blue - let us talk to you! Jewish Family Services offers daily phone calls to individuals who might need a friendly check-in call or just a brief daily contact through our Person-to-Person calling program.

Let our Person-to-Person calling team lift your spirits! Our team will greet you once a day. Contact Jewish Family Services if you or someone you know would like to receive daily calls.

Transportation Services

Jewish Family Services offers transportation services to ourcommunity members who are in need of rides to medical and social service appointments as well as rides to select programs at the Federation. Our transportation service is staffed by a part-time Federation staff members, as well as volunteer drivers from our community.

In order to access services. Please call the Federation  at 574-233-1164 at least 7 days before a scheduled appointment.  Once you hear the recorded message you can press the  number 4 at any time.  After the recorded message please leave your name, your address, address where the appointment is, your telephone number and the date and pick-up/return times that you need for your appointment. ​

Transportation rides are available Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Transportation Services are not available on the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat), Sundays, and Jewish holidays.

Book Club

Partnership with Forever Learning Institute Continues!

Brushing up on old skills and learning new ones helps our brains to stay sharp and powerful. Learning in a group setting has so many more benefits for the individual. It brings friendship, camaraderie, shared spiritual reflection, intellectual growth, social interaction. The Federation’s partnership with the Forever Learning Institute will offer days filled with such opportunities.

The Jewish Federation has been partnered with Forever Learning since 2014, and has provided dozens of classes to local community members over the age of 50, both Jewish and non.
