Ongoing Programs

The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley serves the community in many ways. Whether through education, celebration or commemoration, the Federation regularly brings people together.

Every month we offer recurring programs like the PJ Library, needle arts and book clubs, Lunch ‘n Learns, Babies Tots 'n Blocks and programs for pre-teens and teens like SaBaBaH.

Through the year there are programs and events that take place on an annual basis as well. Every season brings celebrations, family events, and activities for every generation.

In the summer we soak up the sun and warm weather with outdoor activities like Camp Ideal and Camp SaBaBaH, as well as volunteer opportunities around the grounds and in our Unity Garden. The Israeli Scouts join us every other year and put on a great show and the annual partnership meeting always brings us closer together.

The fall kicks off the Annual Campaign and the observance of High Holy Days. Sukkot brings our Community Sukkah Build and a trip to the pumpkin patch bring families together to celebrate the fall harvest. The return of our Holiday Lunches and Lunch and Learn series after summer hiatus and the annual arrival of the new Shaliach are always exciting.

In the winter, we warm up inside with the Purim Carnival and a Hanukkah party. Fun winter activities keep the kids busy during the long winter days. Volunteer opportunities at the soup kitchen and the Hanukkah and Passover baskets warm our hearts.

The spring season at the Federation is always a busy time. The Yom HaShoah Service at the courthouse is always touching and memorable. The annual Yom Hazikaron commemoration and Yom Ha'Atzmaut Celebration are planned for the entire community as we observe Israeli Independence Day as a community. The season wraps up with the annual Jewish Film Festival at the DeBartolo Center for Performing Arts and with the Annual Meeting at the Federation.
